Wind roars; the horses hunker down for the night
Refusing the shelter, they wait for the light.
The donkey brays softly from inside the shed
Snow flies outside; he rests in his bed.
Christmas is coming, the critters all know,
The hustle, the lights, the cold winds and snow
Are part of the picture that dances each year
Filling hearts with warm memories, laughter and cheer.
Children sleep lightly dreaming of the day
Of opening presents; so happy and gay.
The fire crackles softly, the tree sparkles bright
Wishing all a Merry Christmas filled with delight
